Can you wait?
Incontinence is common but not normal. It can be due to many different reasons, and can develop over a period of time. Although risk increases as we age, anyone can experience symptoms at any time. In fact, surveys suggest that as many as 1 in 4 women over the age of 18 leak urine involuntarily. Furthermore, women wait an average of 6.5 years before seeking help from a healthcare professional.
Bladder capacity is between 400-600ml. Try to resist going to the loo when you first feel the need: Your bladder is only around 40% full and you should try to hold on a little longer. Frequency and urgency to pee is not normal albeit common. Likewise, nor is incontinence so do seek help.
The Adore Your Floor programme is delivered with this in mind and provides awareness and education to manage and even eliminate issues of incontinence. Visit the Adore Your Floor page for further information and to get in touch for a confidential chat.
